What a mess! The coronavirus has affected us all. The court system is closed in Kansas with some few exceptions. Judges and attorneys are scrambling to reschedule cases into the future not knowing how long the closure is going to last. It certainly has affected my practice for two of my secretaries have small children in grade school who now have to stay at home. Right now child care is at a premium. So they’re having to stay at home several days a week to be with their children.
I know I am preaching to the choir and you have probably read this but here is a list of the things you can do to try to prevent contracting the coronavirus:
Wash your hands often with soap and water, use hand sanitizer if soap isn’t available.
Avoid close contact with people who were sick.
Cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Clean and disinfect your surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs.
Stay home when you are sick.
I seriously value the health of my staff and clients. When someone comes into our office we now require they first wash their hands and I do the same before each appointment. The conference room is sanitized after each meeting and the door handles are wiped down at least twice a day. We maintain our distance and I assure you that we don’t hug, touch or kiss our clients.
We are all in this together. We will get through it utilizing common sense.
